Useful tips

Parents that lodge offshore parent visa, but spent time in Australia waiting for these offshore parent visas to be granted, often experience much angst and frustration waiting for their offshore visa to be granted. This can be due to the sudden increase in processing time or the need to undertake medicals where complications have arisen.

PARENT VISA

New online option for Parent visa applications

From 2 April 2025, the Department of Home Affairs is introducing a new online functionality to support Parent visa applicants.
While the application must be still be lodged using the paper form, you will now be able to import your acknowledged application into ImmiAccount. This enables you to access our online services to:

  • attach additional documents to your application
  • view correspondence sent to you
  • update your details
  • view the current status of your application.

This functionality applies to on hand applications (however old they are) as well as newly lodged applications.

However, if you lodged a Parent (subclass 103) visa application before November 2018, you will be unable to import your application into ImmiAccount.
